What’s Next for Singapore Football After Recent International Performances?

Hello there,

I have been following the Singapore national team closely; especially after their recent performances in international competitions. While I appreciate the effort and passion the players put into their games; I cannot help but feel that there is still a long way to go for Singapore to be truly competitive on the international stage.

In some matches; the team shows flashes of brilliance; but we seem to lack consistency; especially against stronger regional opponents like Thailand or Vietnam. I am wondering what your thoughts are on what needs to happen for us to take that next step as a footballing nation.

Should we focus more on youth development; like some other countries have done; or do you think we need to bring in more experienced foreign coaches to guide our teams? What about the local league? Do you think the Singapore Premier League (SPL) is doing enough to nurture talent; or are there structural issues that need to be addressed?🤔

Also; I would be interested to hear if anyone knows about upcoming grassroots initiatives or programs that aim to boost the sport at a more foundational level. It feels like we need to invest more in young talents to build a solid base for the future.

Also, I have gone through this post; https://www.jalanforum.com/index.php?threads/saba-minitab.8672/ which definitely helped me out a lot.

Would love to hear what you all think about the current state of football here and what can be done to improve it.

Thanks for your help and assistance.😇
